Michael Weaver, Th.D.

Dr. Mike Weaver is the director of the Schaeffer Center at Hampden-Sydney College and has a calling to help college students love God with all their mind.

He has experience in college student affairs, serving as Deputy Commandant of Cadets at Virginia Tech and Commandant of Cadets/Dean of Students at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.  In 2017, along with a group of faculty, he launched the Bradley Study Center, a Christian study center at Virginia Tech that offers a thoughtful Christian presence for students and faculty in Blacksburg, Virginia.  He is well known within the Christian study center movement, having served on the board of directors of the Consortium of Christian Study Centers for six years, and most recently as a Consortium staff member helping emerging Christian study centers launch successfully and become part of this growing movement.  Mike is driven by a commitment and passion to help college students and faculty meaningfully reflect on the Great Tradition of historic Christianity and find authentic ways to live out the Christian faith in the modern world.  He has theology degrees from Wesley Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and Duke Divinity School (Th.M.) along with a doctorate in theology (Th.D.) from the University of Winchester in the U.K.
